It is with sadness that we tell you, Jeanne Lloyd passed away in Exeter recently, the funeral is to be at 2.30 pm in Exeter on 18th February 2011. Jeanne was the wife of well known North Wales/West Midlands Representative Bob Lloyd. They moved to Exeter last year to be near their daughter when Jeanne needed more care for her illness. Although Jeanne could not take a full and active part in club life over the years due to her disability, she did make many trips to the special events such as Summer Camps and trips abroad. The couple would be seen travelling with Jeanne's wheelchair strapped to the back of one of Bob's Citroen Specials. I knew Jeanne, as a very strong, independent, determined & lovely lady who had devised a method of exiting their special with a minimum of the effort that many of us use. One of my last memories was of Jeanne, during our N.I. trip in 2007, being carried up the steps of Stormont in her wheelchair, as there were no disabled facilities where all our cars were parked. It was quicker and easier to have a lifter at each corner of the chair and the job was done, just like Royalty on a litter to the awe of local people. Jeanne will be missed by many friends in the club so on your behalf we have sent our deepest condolences to Bob and his family in this sad loss. Carole and the Citroen Specials Club Committee |
