Re: Suitable Shockers

Thanks for the replies all. Howard my mate says he can relocate the top mounting to bring the shocker more upright so I'll probably let him have a play with it for me. I'll get some heavy duty shockers for the front they don't seem to be a big problem at all. All the shockers are working but going r...

Suitable Shockers

Hello All, I'm contemplating changing both sets of shockers on Blue the 2CV trike for cosmetic reasons mainly but my other half said she thought it had "bottomed out" on the left hand rear shocker when we were out on it the other day. I've asked a few mates and none seem to be able to agree on which...

Re: Polishing Lacquer?

Thanks Geoff. I've saved the page to my favourites and will study it before I start. At a glance it looks like a comprehensive "how to" guide.

Polishing Lacquer?

Hello All, Well I've asked this question in another forum and got no answers so I'm going to ask you gentlemen and ladies the same question. I'm used to cellulose paints and T cut etc but I've not used lacquer before to get a shine, I'm using metallic paint and lacquer to spray my trike (I'm sprayin...

Re: Gearbox stub diameter?

Hey up Ken, Aye cotter pins do have the corresponding flat but that was the only way I could try and explain how this looked. Mine is circular but the inside of the spare gear lever I have doesn't seem to have any splines. Looks like my mate will have to use the original off my trike, as far as I'm ...

Re: Gearbox stub diameter?

Thanks Hutchi,

Strangely enough the spare gear lever I have doesn't look to be splined at all, it looks like a similar arrangement to a cotter pin on a bicycle with a clamp and bolt which looks like it would lock into a cutout.

Gearbox stub diameter?

Hello All, Could anyone please tell me the diameter of the small stub which comes out of the gearbox on the disc brake version. It's the one where the pinch bolt and clamp fasten to. I've a mate who's going to modify my gear lever for me and he's asked me for this measurement and I don't have a vern...

Re: Heat question - Hammerite paint

Thanks all for the information and suggestions. I ended up using VHT paint then spraying over it with silver wheels and baking it all onto the rocker box top in the oven.

Re: Brush Painting

Hello Geoff, As a youth I was apprenticed to a painting and decorating firm and funnily enough a bloke there had brush painted an MG Midget in British Racing Green you wouldn't have believed it was brushed. I asked him what he used and I remember it was "Swansdown" enamel it can be done and as you s...

Re: Cable operated remote gear lever?

Hello Geoff, Callum, Bill, Ken, Thanks for the input and the comments. I'd noticed they were the "wrong way" round when I looked at the manual but that's how they were fitted when I bought it. It has been MOT'ed 7 years so I thought well they would have picked up on it surely. I was all ready to cha...
