Hello Ken.
You have confirmed what I suspected.
When I built the car many years ago,I remember the hangers and shock mount studs looked used...

Lomax chassis
Hello Folks. My Lomax has developed an annoying clicking from the front suspension, and this weekend I decided to get to the bottom of it. To my horror, I discovered the drivers side front spring/shock mount has fractured the weld almost all the way around, and ripped out the chassis side. The later...

Re: Anti roll bar
I have the standard Lomax type Anti roll bar fitted to my lomax 223. Was not originally fitted, and was left wrapped up for years. Having run the car without, and for last 6 years with, I can say the difference is noticable. With it fitted, roundabouts can be tackled at speed without pulling elbows ...

Re: INSIDE A DG NITION
MPS 54 print.pdf Hello Howard. Some of the packing machines I work on use hall effect sensors for 'home' positions of grips. While the sensor chip itself is reliable, the cable to the PCB has to flex many times an hour, and the multicores are only 0.5mm each. After (X) years, the strands fracture, ...

Re: new petrol tank
Hello Joe.
Jay Wolfe in Northhampton fabricated a new stainless tank for my Lomax, they used the old one as a pattern.
A while ago now, but it was a reasonable price for the job, and well made.

Re: lomax body colours
I used BS 381C Deep Brunswick green to respray my Lomax.
It is very close to my Lomax original jel coat, although the jel coat was hard to match well as all panels had faded to different shades. I used the rear wheel arch as not affected by sunlight.

Re: Lomax 223
Tax class should say tricycle on V5.
If not, best to social distance from what could be a can of worms.
Interesting though, was it mot'd annually as a four wheeler(class 4) if not registered as a three wheeler, (class 3) and if so was that even legal?...Was it taxed as tricycle?

Re: Car cover
Hello. I purchased a cover from Ebay to replace my tatty halfords cover. It is tailored to fit Lomax, and does so well. It is lined, strong and well made. My Lomax lives in a covered carport in winter, with this cover, and been ok. On EBay, Search for: Winter Outdoor Monsoon Waterproof Car Cover for...

Re: Fuel dripping under carb / manifold
Hello again MM.
I often thought of the fire risk, but as you say, it evaporates away quickly on a clean visible engine block.
I always leave it idling for a minute before turning off, not sure if I am just convincing myself, but I think it helps reduce any dripping..

Re: Fuel dripping under carb / manifold
Hello MM. There is a small pin hole on the bottom of the manifold directly below carb. Surplus fuel leaving the carb will run down and find the hole. Pumping the pedal will squirt fuel from the acceleration pump straight down into the mmanifold. As far as I am aware, fuel dripping from this hole is ...
