pushrods - which way is up
Since a week isn't complete without a numpty question from me, can you remind me which way my pushrods go back in? there's a round end and a flat end. Which is the top?

Re: Silence is Golden - why won't my horn blow?
The horn didn't work because the wire had corroded about an inch short of the connection to the horn.
The lights didn't work because I wired the switch back up wrong.
d'oh!

Re: Silence is Golden - why won't my horn blow?
Thanks! I put it back together with care and copying my "spare" one from the parts stash.
What would the signs of a failing switch be? (apart from things not working, of course)

Silence is Golden - why won't my horn blow?
2CV problem not a Lomax one. The horn has been silent for months. I've borrowed a spare, which works if I put it on the Lomax. It doesn't work on the 2CV. After I took the switch off the steering column to check for loose wires and put it back on, the horn still doesn't blow and now I have no lights...

A quick Grille-ing....
The 'interesting' Welsh roads not only shook my exhaust loose but made my front grille fall out. It turns out it was held in my big lumps of plastic padding. Is that the approved method? What do other owners do?

Re: 4 gear problem
My Lomax is jumping out of gear (though jumping suggests rather more energy than is evident - perhaps rolling?) out of gear on long downhill stretches. Does this advice still apply?

Re: idle problem cured, now I have a 'no acceleration' problem...
I think it was a combination of being a numpty and also that what should have been an increase in jet sized proved to be a decrease as the original has been drilled out. If anyone would like to learn from my mistakes:- - points box on too tight, restricting the advance - 125 jet proved to be a step ...

Hi Rob,
Did you change to the 18/26? I'm considering replacing my 21/24 carb and wondered whether you feel it's been an improvement.

idle problem cured, now I have a 'no acceleration' problem...
Maybe it's time to give up! I had issues last year with a refusal to idle. Ended up rebuilding the cylinder heads and that seemed to cure it. Last weekend I was on the A45 when suddenly the engine started to 'kangaroo.' We limped on for a bit but had no power at all and had to call recovery. I've re...
