Re: Lomax 223 anti roll bar
If as you say, there is no dummy rear arm then first step is to refit the rear spring tension rod and create a substitute anchor point on chassis.
Ensure there is adjustment and then play with the free-standing pre-tensioning of the rear spring.

Re: Lomax 223 anti roll bar
Is the RH rear dummy arm in situ ? If not the spring canister is just freewheeling that side. Ideally the rear dummy arm should be interlinked to the rear wheel, as a minimum the dummy arm should be in place and the rear spring pre-tensioned via adjusting the tie rod. The lack of front ARB may then ...

Re: Lomax 223 anti roll bar
Hi Steve, You summize correct in that the rear ARB is not about roll control. The purpose of the rear ARB is to bring the rear action of the dummy spring canister back into play. The original concept of the 2cv suspension (crossing ploughed fields etc) success is due pre-warning effect (front to rea...

Re: Lomax 223 anti roll bar
Rocketman, The photo you posted is of the Lomax rear ARB. The photo posted by Howard is of the Lomax front ARB (which is a copy of the AMI setup). The ARB's provided by Lomax were manufactured in the Uk from heat treated Spring Steel. PS. Some early 2CV's had torsion suspension (in place of the unde...

Re: Anti roll bar
The addition of the front anti roll bar upgrade is a std Lomax offering based on the system employed by Citroen on the Ami. It assists to limit body roll when running on 3 wheels, especially in chicane moves and if/when the dummy rear wheel arm / spring rod is not suitably pre-tensioned or better st...

Re: 223 front mudguard support brackets source
Correct, that is one of the original front brackets as supplied by Lomax. Not sure if Graham is yet setup to provide bracketry as well as the grp parts, however the bracket design is now much different to what you have there. If Graham is not producing them as yet then there was a source in Belgium/...

Re: Oil Temp. Gauge
Hi all, Have to agree with Davidm, the ideal place to sense any impending oil temp catastrophe is within the sump. Sump Plug male/female adaptor reducers are available to simply enable the insertion of the temp probe in place of the sump plug. Only issue then is to fabricate and attach steel sumpgua...

In addition to any stock Steve P has remaining, Graham at LomaxCars also has a few sets included amongst the stock from handover. Graham also has the detail of hose lengths required. Important note is to understand that the use of the "special" banjo bolts Steve P refers is essential as they were de...
