Re: Lomax 223 rear wheel problems.

It was the current owner of the Lomax project. I supplied him with a NOS van arm. Job was well done other than he welded the brake backing plate on upside down. Wasn’t a problem though.

Re: Mvsa1 form for test

Did this in 2023. No chance of avoiding a Q plate unless all parts are new and receipted. I had proof that the donor was a 60’s Ami. No go.

Surprised that MGA wheels would fit under the Avion tail.

Re: Lomax 223 rear wheel problems.

The welding on the extension piece is not Citroen but it looks like a coded airframe weld compared to the one on ours. The seam along the inside and outside of the arm itself is a Citroen weld. I believe it is done by a special method unique to this application. I have cut several arms open and it i...

Re: Lomax 223 rear wheel problems.

No flexi. The pipe is hard line all the way through. It is a spiral inside which allows the arm to move freely. Just undo the tube nut going into the threeway union and pull the pipe out. Just get the body support tube out if the way. Ours had the nuts birdshit welded on to the bolt for some ridicul...

Re: Lomax 223 rear wheel problems.

I removed the arm from our Lomax this morning by removing the axle. Very easy no problems at all. After removing the arm from the axle we took the paint off with a wire wheel on a grinder. Underneath the paint and body filler there was much corrosion and very poor quality welding to cover up corrosi...

Re: Lomax 223 rear wheel problems.

Got this on a 223 I bought earlier this year. It leans over in exactly the same way as yours, plus it is not straight along the axis of the car and I suspect it is not straight in the horizontal plane either as I cannot get enough ride height. I’ve spoken to the chap at Lomax and he will straighten ...

Re: Supercharged Blackjack Avion

Engine and supercharger went bang after a week of spirited driving and it now has a normally aspirated engine. Amedee has no plans to reinstall the supercharger.
