Re: Oversize oil filter for a 2cv engine

Hi Lads, I fitted an oil cooler off a mini cooper some years ago. It bolted on the front cross member and I plumbed it in with all spanner fittings and hydraulic piping. The fittings into the crankcase are 16mm with Dowty washers and the mini oil cooler has 3/4 inch to 3/8 bsp adapters. Price for pi...

Re: Carb modifications

Hi Ken ,it was I that had a chat to Patrick at the Stoneme kit car show last sunday and what he said to me was that his car was suffering from almost stalling at junctions and generally was reluctant to pick up with popping and farting about. So I suggested the mod that you advised me about some yea...

Re: Heat question - Hammerite paint

I used it several times on engines and exhaust pipes,it came in an aerosol tin and in a range of colours, gloss or matt. Look on the internet f...

However this throws up the fact that as brakes are fitted to your ‘trailer’ they must be operationa...

Re: Towing a 2CV / Lomax

Jesus! I find it hard to believe that anyone in their right mind would tow a Lomax at 100mph on an A frame. Sods Law dictates that things can and will go wrong and at those sorts of speeds the consequences could be horrendous! The Lomax becomes, by law, an articulated trailer if towed on an A frame ...

Re: Hazard Warning Lights

Bonjour Dave, as Paul says definitely a safety feature so get wiring old mate!! I used a hazard switch off a series 3 BMW, could not get it to work until I found out that the switch required 2 earth connections! Sneaky buggers these German car makers! I also fitted a high level stop lamp because our...
