Re: Oversize oil filter for a 2cv engine
Boggy, thanks for the info and Lavrats part nbr is FI2114, priced at 15 Euros . I'll try to get one from them and get it sent to me in Twickenham. In the meantime do you know which model diesel Golf e.g. engine size/year etc, the larger filter comes from - better still do you know the filter nbr? Th...

Spark Plugs
I'm going to change the plugs in my 602cc BRA special. Has anyone used NGK Iridium BR7 HIX plugs which I understand are OK for 2cv's and if so are there any benefits as they cost a lot more than standard plugs. Also what gap is used? For ordinary plugs, NGK B6HS plugs seem to be the default option b...

Oversize oil filter for a 2cv engine
I understand that it may be possible to fit a larger than standard oil filter to a 602cc engine to slightly increase the oil capacity and therefore help with additional cooling. Does anyone know what oil filter to get eg Mahle (or similar) product code or from which car? An adaptor may be required a...

Re: making ethanol free fule
Hi Don, I've been looking into this as well and understand that most if not all 97+ octane brands are ethanol free. During a recent 2,500 mile trip through Europe I started off using 95 octane petrol but was careful to ensure I got 5% ethanol band not the E10 variety. I then switched to only use 97 ...

Needle for a SU HIF38 carb
I have a Blackjack induction system fitted to my standard 602cc M28 engine. It works fine except for some fluffing/hestinancy around 2,800 to 3,200 rpm approx. I currently have either a AZZ or AZR needle (its difficult to make out which) with a K+N cone filter as supplied by Blackjack. Does anyone h...

Fitting a 652cc visa engine + 5 speed box into a BRA special
I've been offered a 5 spd Visa gearbox + engine - has anyone fitted this combo into a Citroen 2cv engined kit car?
If so what are the performance benefits and how was the installation done?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks , Nick
