Forum contribution issues

Post by hutchii » Tue Sep 22, 2026 10:19 pm

Am I the only one who has had this issue?
I have tried on a couple of occasions recently to type in various categories. Having typed in and compiling a lengthy post, I press preview, and the post disappears, apparently never to be seen again!
Re-type and all seems normal?I
Comments please

Hi,
Same here but on I2F friends forum, I guess froums are not used much (FB) less bug fixing.

My Rant...
I much prefer a forum...Subjects/Structure/Search etc but a bit harder to use than FB,.
Posted on I2F to persude people to use/view but seem they are lost to Fakebook.
Cheers
Peter

Gunner stick my hoof in hear...

Quite agree that the forum is a much better place for club chat and info than FB which is clunky and at times hard to find previous info.

I also agree that the forum is not the most convenient system due to logging in malarkey.

I understand that the forum we are using is an off-the-shelf software and therefor limited in capacity or upgrade...

However, the thing is we, the club, are sitting on a bank surplus of around £17k which the board doesn't seem to know what to do with.

So how about spending on a forum upgrade?

As I have commented at AGMs several times, the entire website including the forum is now looking rather twentieth century.

Just a thought!

Hi Howard,

My 2 cents

An "Easy" to use forum or Website with "No Logon" and "Drag and Drop" for images and files:)

The 2CVBG has a Website but membership costs £42 pa! but you do get a monthly Magazine:)
I think the website had a Technical archive?
Accounts show they also have a surplus/reserve og £340K

May be combine CSC, I2F and 2CVgb???
