Wiring problems
Once again, this huge ignoramus (an ignorotamos?) seeks help.I have indicators fitted, as usual, non-self-cancelling. Embarassing sometimes when you fail to! At least with hand signals, the arm gets tired, and self-cancels.
The present switch has 3 terminal, central one carrying the live feed, and the other two, left and right. Well, I never! So I've just bought an illuminating stalk indicator, which has given me an extra terminal for luck. My brain has run out at this stage, even after checking continuity. Being hyper intelligent, I can guess what L and R stand for, but what about K and 49a? As usual, no wiring diagram with the part, Help!

Re: Wiring problems
Hi Patrick
I guess the extra terminal is the neutral for the repeater lamp on the stalk.
Good luck

Re: Wiring problems
Hi Patrick,
I found this information for a Berkley wiring list:
"If you will be using one of the new BEC supplied stalk indicator switches you will notice two ‘K’ terminals, one must be linked to the ‘49’ terminal and the other to the yellow flasher unit wire to make the red indicator bulb work. Also the red/white flasher feed wire must be connected to the ‘49a’ terminal."
This information from Bosch Automotive Handbook:
" TURN SIGNAL FLASHER
49 Input
49a Output
Lastly, from the information on the indicator relay (HF205) for my three wheeler, terminal 49a is for the indicator switch (ie supply to switch).
Hope this helps.
Paul

Re: Wiring problems
Patrick,
Looks like you have all the answers you need, but as a matter of interest, I fitted a 12 volt buzzer from Maplins to resolve the same problem, (i.e. Indicators left on). So bloody noisy, I'm thankful when I can turn it off!

Re: Wiring problems
My trike has only 2 terminals on the indicator flasher unit, and I want to wire in a warning buzzer, but cannot find correct points to wire it to.
I have tried live wire from buzzer to the flasher take off terminal on flasher unit, and the other to earth, works fine when flashers selected, but got a continious buzz when in neutral position, [ ignition on ].
Wiring diagrams no help, anyone know where to stick the buzzer wires?
[ not on my anatomy ]

Re: Wiring problems
You could try ,near, the indicator switch connect one wire of the buzzer to the wire that goes to the left side indicators and the other wire of the buzzer to the wires that go to right hand side indicators although I'm not sure of the loads involved and the flash rate May change. If that doesn't work just get a 2cv 3pin flasher unit and connect to the third pin

Re: Wiring problems
Hi I have used a buzzer from a towbar wiring kit! Easy to wire in as long as you get a little wiring diagram with it! Comes with its own wires and cut it in under the steering .Ten minute job!Makes a horrible noise though!
