Re: Cooler car
You can fit a fan to the oil cooler - many people have done this. I understand it is possible to refit the tinware and fan to the engine. But I don't know why you would want to do this other than to get a heater in the car - and there are better ways to do that.
If you are very worried about the engine overheating then fit a larger oil cooler and put a fan on that - I wouldn't bother about refitting the engine fan. Despite the predictions of death and destruction from certain quarters, many Citroen based specials have now done mileages vastly in excess of those they did as donor cars - all without tinware and engine fans.

Hi Thanks for your reply,
Yes I was thinking about the overheating of the engine only
I will go for a bigger oil cooler and fan just to be safe side
Had 2 lomax,s before" Not any trouble" but the one I have now
runs a bit hot The engine has good oil pressure /clean oil / filter etc
Every thing is ok But I think I will feel better if I do the mods

Re: Cooler car
My 223 has a Continental bonnet and as a result, the the engine is more enclosed than conventional bonnet versions. It is fitted with a fan, but none of the associated tinware. Soon after I bought it I removed the fan, largely because, as Geoff says, nobody else was running with one. The engine ran significantly hotter as a result, and the oil pressure was noticeably lower at tick over when hot. As I hadn't gained anything measurable in performance, I replaced the fan for peace of mind!
I must admit that even without any cowling round it, the fan pushes quite a lot of air though the oil cooler and around the engine generally. I did toy with the idea of fitting an electric fan directly in front of the cooler, but shelved that when the new car build came along.
You could fit the wrap round, finned sleeve to the oil filter, which allegedly improves things.
Have you checked the timing? Running over advanced usually makes an engine run hotter.
