I have been running my Pembleton rear tyre at 20 psi however it does tram line and on recommendation from another trike user I upped this to 30lbs psi and now it skips and skids more easily! What pressure do others run theirs at? Mine is a 2CV wheel fitted with a 135 x 15 tyre (Fyrestone F560) with plenty tread on standard 2CV swing arm. Experiences sought please.

Re: Rear tyre preasure on trike
Original Morgans would run 18-19psi in the front wheels, and 27-29psi in the rear one. This is taken from a Morgan trike Forum;
Experiment with pressures;
At the front. Pressure too low = heavy steering. Pressure too high = bouncy uncomfortable ride.
At the rear. Pressure too low = strange effect like the rear’s trying to steer. Pressure too high = wheel will skip over bumps. Rear may slide out on larger bumps.

Re: Rear tyre preasure on trike
On my 223 Lomax I have approx 18 to 20 psi on the front and 28 to 30 psi on the rear with 135 tyres.
I look at the shape of the tyre on the road to determine the pressure.

On my Lomax 223 I ran the rear wheel on 35psi, cured the tramlining and also reflects my BSA three wheeler days when I ran the rear wheel on 40psi,
although this was a cross ply tyre.
