123 ignition / brown coil

Post by meldrew » Sun Apr 17, 2016 9:45 pm

My 2cv based special is fitted with 123 electronic ignition with the black Citroen coil, I have a brown Visa coil, can I use this if the black one expires, if not what alternative coils suit?

The deciding factor is the primary resistance value. It should be above 3 ohms ( for a 12 volt battery this will draw 4 amps of current which the electronic ignition should be able to cope with) The lower the resistance value the higher the currant will be, simple, yes?
