How did it pass without mudguards?????

Sorry this is not in keeping with what 3 wheeler s are about. There is nothing on earth like the scream of the exhausts and the wind in your face.

Nothing like a bit of controversy. But like it or not, sooner or later...!!

Now if Citroen would come up with an electric 2CV or will that be a 2KW for their 100th anniversary then our next generation will have something to play with.

Any moor opinions?

I disagree, i think this is absolutely the future. Electric power trains ARE the way forward.

The problem, which is rapidly being developed, is energy storage and heat management.

A combustion engine and mechanical drive train is a deeply flawed way of travel. They're noisy, hot , smelly, not very efficient, mechanically hugely complex, heavy and require a lot of maintenance and they're messy (fluid and filter changes, oil, other fluids).

with an electric drive train (depending on configuration) you can alter every wheel speed and torque instantly, even brake/reverse wheels independently.

Theoretically this could be programmed so that it is impossible to over steer, under steer or spin.

Morgan are tapping into a slightly different market with this. The kind of person who really does want to have fun, without being too serious, yet also doesn't want a complex maintenance schedule. If you watch the videos, they have clearly made this car to be toyed with. The rear wheel is very skinny, so it will break traction on demand, with the instant torque available, i imagine this thing is an absolute hoot to drive!

Petrol cars have been in wide spread development for around 110 years. Electric cars have only been in large scale development for around 15-20 years and are already better in every way apart from range. I was involved in the development and design of the NextEV NioEP9, which was entirely developed and built in the UK by a prominent motorsport design and engineering company - check it out.

We do not own or drive our cars because they are better than anything else, we do it for the same reason that people ride horses. An affection for the machine, the feel, the smell, the noise and the freedom. No other reason.

I agree with everything you say about the combustion engine. But having owned and built my own Pembleton (sadly sold) when I drove it it was the nearest thing to flying on the road. With the sound of the engine beautiful and the air rushing past a dream. For me silently sailing along perhaps like a little boat just doesn't do it for me. Now having said that I love new electric hybrid car but they go just go from A to B not much fun. I get in my car it starts it goes I get there I lock it up it's a tool. But a 3 wheeler with a lovely sounding combustion engine is a thing of beauty and pleasure. By the way a 2cv engine with dellorto twin balanced carbs wow the engine sound magnificent. Just my opinion!!!!!!!

Hmmm! Apparently the motor in this Morgan is liquid cooled hence the heat sinks (or whatever) on the front. I do think though they should do away with the silly offset single head light and fit a nice grill over the opening.
Having watched the formula E cars there is no doubt that performance should not be an issue, but how far you can get is another matter. So maybe not much good for ripping around the hills and mountains and certainly no good for shopping trips. So just an expensive toy at the mo!
Regarding the engine sounds, just build in an audio simulator connected to the loud pedal, and if you like V twins, perhaps a vibrator in the seat..!?

Back in the 1970s I saw a university project at the NEC it was a 2cv Dolly with a milk float motor mated to the transmission, in the back was an array of batteries and a portable generator, an early hybrid? I have also read a book about some lads who drove an electric milk float from Norfolk to Lands End.

Hi Guys - Reading your posts some of you have Dellorto PHBH 28 carbs fitted. I was supplied with 2 new ones for 2CV and have been trying to get them to run right. In frustration I went on YouTube on a site which showed setting up carbs for scooters. The guy who posted “scooterman” who appeared to know his onions mentioned that the carb for a 2 stroke should have a brass protrusion into the Venturi space. If you buy a carb on eBay and it hasn’t got a brass protrusion it is a carb for a 4 stroke. The carbs supplied to me have this brass protrusion. Could this be my problem - Eurocarb have supplied 2 off of the wrong carbs?? Could you check your carbs guys ?? Steve,
