Re: gearchange conversion
Thanks for that Jack, that looks really helpful I'll pass that on to my guy and see what he thinks. have you used one of these ? where did you get the picture ? or is that gear change one that you are using yourself ? If it's a spare that you have do you want to sell it ?

Re: gearchange conversion
John,
The photo in my previous post is of a Vauxhall linkage currently for sale on E Bay.
This weekend there was a meet of the local CSC Group, I asked several members who built their Lomaxes 20 or 30 years ago how they did their remote gear changes, in each case the answer was to go to the local scrapyard and get one off a Citroen GS....
The modern Vauxhall equivalent looks like a good starting point to me.
I kept the remote change from a Hillman Imp to use on my Citroen special, but Imps are as common in scrapyards as GS.
On my Pembleton it turns out that I cannot use a floor mounted gear-lever as the driver gets in on the passenger side and slides under the steering wheel so I have concentrated on improving the dash mounted gear change, see attached photo.
Hope this helps

Sorry I have not got back to you sooner I have been out of the country.
No sign of a pm in my inbox.
The floor mounted gearchange was from a Super Ami and I bought it through this site from another member.
I have some photographs, they are not great but if you pm me again I will try and get them to you.

Re: gearchange conversion
Hi Peter, thanks for the reply I would be grateful for any photo's for any pictures particularly regarding how the new rod is connected to the gear change on the gearbox. If you could Email them to me at :- johnkeen1943@gmail.com I would be grateful as that will make it easier to print them off for my "spanner man"
Regards John
