Anyone any advice on how to set up the headlamp aim on a Lomax 223?
Thanks Tom

Measure from the ground up to the center of the head light ... draw a horizontal line on a wall at the same height ... turn your lights on dip now it gets interesting the Lit up area on the Wall should be close to the line but not above it .. some bulbs give a horizontal beam but some give a kick up lit up area on the wall but this must be to the left of centre lit up area this is so you don’t dazzle cars coming towards you .. now if you have a kick up to the right as you look at the wall and changing bulbs doesn’t cure it and you have lights suitable for rhd cars you can probably correct that by rotating the bulb in it’s holder sometimes you may have to grind fresh locating cut outs for the bulb .. works for me

I measure my lights from floor to centre of beam unit then with a permanent marker, scribe a line on the inside of the garage door - it'll always be there for future use. Move the car back to about 3 to 4 foot away from the inside of the garage door and set the beams. What I have done before is to take a spanner with me to the MOT and the tester is usually quite happy for me to set the lights, using his beam tester.

All sorted - took the vehicle in for its msva retest and the tester allowed me to adjust them there and then on the gauge! Very pleased with the service and delighted the lomax 223 has passed - almost ready for the open road.
