as I understand there are 3 types,
123/2CV, 123/UNI & the 123/EVO at varying prices.
My Lomax engine is standard at the moment but may tune later on.

Hello Lester
I fitted 123/UNI ignition about two years ago and have since done 13,000 miles and its been fine with no problems, I have even driven though a river in yorkshire with no problems.

Hi Eddie
Thanks for the info, did you have to do anything special to make the 123 waterproof?

DG system bought from Silly CVs and fitted to my 2CV more than three years ago - faultless.

Hi Friends
To provide you all the information that I have about water getting into the 123 ignition as I made the initial comment about this issue.
This information came from one of the leading UK 2CV parts distributors, in that on the more exposed Lomax kit cars without the cooling fan arrangements in place they have taken apart faulty 123 units to find that water had penetrated the internals. As mentioned previously this does not seem to happen with the DG units and also does not seem to happen with standard 2CV cars where the cooling fan is in place providing some protection for the 123 unit.

Then it seems obvious to make a cover that keeps rain off the unit...
driving in flood water is not normal -so keeping rain off but letting it breath and cool seems the options.
