Mike,
can you recall if the primary petrol jet on your carburettor is hidden, like the one in the link below, or is it visible and easily accessible?
Also, did you note the sizes of the petrol jets when you stripped the carb down?
(The manuals say that the primary jet should be a 125 and the secondary 70, but most UK cars seem to have been fitted with a 120 primary.)

The car is running a 21-24 carb coupled to an original Lomax style air filter.
Exhaust is standard Lomax pipes into a standard cross-box silencer which feeds a Lomax side pipe/silencer.
All appears to be standard Lomax issue.

Mike,
my apologies as well for the delay in replying; I've been 'caught in the middle' recently, some problems with my mother (93) and also my grandson (3).
Anyhow, before everything shuts down for the festive season...
Assuming that your primary jet in that 21-24 carburettor is a 120, a good place to start with your setup might be a 127.5 or 130 primary petrol jet.
If that sorts things to about throttle 2/3 opening, then you can test whether upping the secondary petrol jet from a 70 to a 75 gives a bit more go at 'wide open' throttle.
Ken
( p.s. Seems I've got far too much old Citroen clutter here, so let me know if you're interested in some drilled out jets for testing purposes.)
