Can any one help with the wiring of a regulator.
The terminals on the regulator are not marked and the wiring harness plug only has three grey wires none of which are colour coded.

From very recent memory (Monday), looking at the reg, with the flat middle pin to the top, the order from L->R is +ve, -ve, Exc.

This might be helpful. You can work out which wire goes where by using your meter on its continuity setting;

Sounds about right...
Just don't mix them up, that's instantaneous 'game over' for an electronic regulator, which was why the three-socket plug on the original loom was such a good idea.

Thanks for this, can you confirm that the left to right is looking at the pins from the bottom of the regulator and not the end of the plug

L->R from the bottom of the regulator. Looking at the plug, obviously, the order will be reversed.

P.S. I had reg problems after having a play in the snow. Wired up a jump cable to allow me to fit a non-standard electronic reg (came in a box of bits), but that allowed 18v+ into the battery - which wouldn't be a good idea. Reverted to another A-Series electronic reg, which topped out at approx 14.5v, which suits me just fine.
