Fitting a new short version from ECAS , filler/. Breather

Has anyone managed to fit the New ECAS Short English Made Breather valve onto crankcase alongside alternator casing on a Lomax without difficulty ?
When i look at my set up there is hardly any space and Alternator almost overlaps a fraction ,even with someones attempts to grind the casing back . The belt is fully tensioned already . The filler breather is at present on the bulkhead with copper pipe fittings brazed on the base and flange removed .it sits in a cradle bracket .Its time to change mine for one of the two alternatives .Are some alternators for a Lomax slightly smaller in circumferance ? Maybe i should just cut and braze standard breather for bulkhaed fitting ?
