Hello
Does anyone have any info on what lens/reflectors are suitable for a RHD Burton, and from where they can be sourced? Ideally with a reference number that takes into account the lenses being RHD
Burton themselves seem to be confused and cannot supply me with RHD lenses, and I am concerned that the ECAS unit will not fit the Burton housing.
The only other suggestion appears to be to bake off the existing lenses and fit salvaged RHD ones. I would prefer to find the correct new unit before I ruin our oven and my marriage!

Re: Burton Headlamps
Keith,
this should be a non-problem. The difference between LHD and RHD 2CV headlamps is only the orientation of the bulb. There's a notch where bulb sits - which can be reproduced on the vertical axis of symetry to allow for LH dipping. I've even seen some 2CV reflectors with a plastic gizmo allowing the notch to be moved from LHD to RHD and vice-versa.
Use a needle file to make a new cutout in the reflector collar.

Re: Burton Headlamps
Thanks Callum.
That is very interesting and I hadn't appreciated that the bulb location was the critical matter; I assumed it was the lens layout
The lenses I have are marked E2 for France, and I am assuming that I need E11 for the UK. I am concerned the IVA test will require the lenses to be correct for the UK.
I may yet experiment with the oven ...
Thanks again

Re: Burton Headlamps
Keith,
My Pembleton passed SVA last year with E2 marked headlamps.
I believe that the E2 refers to country of manufacture rather than use, interesting as my new Valeo units (Cibie successor) said on the box made in Belgium!
I guess the mould has not been updated as still incorporated the Cibie logo.
The important thing is the double headed arrow on the glass showing suitable for LHD or RHD. These units have the plastic lever on the back.
I bought the units from ECAS, as, like you, I could not find out from continental suppliers whether their units were also suitable for RHD.
The Valeo part number for the items I bought is 061659.
Hope this helps
Jack

Re: Burton Headlamps
Thanks Jack
ECAS units installed and all set up. Interesting about the markings - certainly the two way switch will sort that part of the IVA....as for the rest of the test, we shall have to see
Thanks again
