Looking to replace the old fuse panel.
Present fuses are:
35a
50a
50a
10a

The two 50s look excessive, any thoughts?

As every build will differ dependent on extras, mods to looom etc etc the best option to rate fuses is to test everything electrical is working then remove 1 fuse alternatively and note what stops working.
Then for each fused circuit you have the choice to either calculate / estimate the amperage or temporarily bidge the fuse holder with an ammeter to measure the amps drawn with those controlled items all turned on. Then the ideal fuse for maximum protection will be one size up, or for more reliability with good protection then go up two sizes.

the attached std 2cv type diagram may help identify the potential cct's under control of 3 of your existing fuses.

I've just had a look at the Haynes manual electrical section and the maximum listed fuse is 16A.
If your car only has the 4 fuses shown in you picture, the advice given in the previous post will sort out which fuse powers what, but bear in mind that a fuse is primarily there to protect the wiring in the event of a fault. Melting insulation and fibreglass cars are not a good combination!!

Thanks for the replies. I've already fitted a battery isolator and will go the route of checking across the existing fuses.

Not knowing the donor car, I suspect the fourth fuse is the rear fog-light - fitted to UK spec cars.

50-amp is excessive!

Fitted new fuse box. Interesting that upon removing all the fuses only the indicators stopped working.
