Panhard Rod

Post by Geoff Ryall-Harvey » Tue May 13, 2014 11:47 pm

Thought this might be helpful to anyone building a one off special. I've fitted a panhard rod to the rear axle on my Hot Rod. Normally buggy sprung Fords don't need axle location but the shackle angles are too steep on my car for various reasons. The simplest solution is a panhard rod, Watts linkage is better but more complicated and expensive.

Sorry for the poor mobile phone pictures - the rod is over 36" long and pretty near dead level. Difficult to show with it being tucked behind the axle, spring and shocks...
