Can Any one help. Due to the position of the suspension cross member the gear box extension can only be 50mm high.
Will the original gear change lever work or will i need a floor change. If the original will work has anyone details of the modification required.
Thanks John

John,
By extension I suppose that you mean the length of the gear arm coming from the box. Mine is 100mm long and works fine...by shortening the length you need to be precise in positioning the gear shift...in reality easy to learn and no problem.
That said try the 50mm but it could be very precise!!!

Use 8mm female rod end bearings and M8 threaded rod to make the linkages. Sheave it in 10mm ally tube to dress it up and stiffen it.

Ideally you would use LH and RH threaded rod ends to make it more easily adjustable but that is more difficult and expensive. However, if you let me know the length you need I can tell you whether it would be possible to use a kart steering track rod instead. This will be fully adjustable, come with LH and RH male rod ends and lock nuts and the centre section will be anodised octagonal ally bar. I paid about £6 for the last one I bought. Hardly more than the rod ends on their own.

Will do. I'm away on holiday until Friday and posting on my smartphone. In the meantime, if you search ebay for "kart track rod" you should find them and be able to work out how they can be adapted.

Thanks Geoff.
I have seen the links on Ebay. However it would still be useful to see a photo of your setup if possible.
There is no rush as I still have plenty of other things to do, such as cutting off the mudguard supports and re siteing them. :D
Thanks
John
