Shock Absorbers

Post by hutchii » Sat Jul 26, 2014 10:21 pm

L've recently been looking for 2cv rear shockers on ebay. Many of those listed are KYB. One seller suggests visiting their (KYB) website to check compatibility. The site lists 3 year ranges:- 70 - 81, 79 - 90 and 75 - 81. The first and last of these list the same part number, 79 - 90 something different.
As far as I've been able to find out all these year ranges use the same length of shocker.
Can anyone suggest why different ones are listed?

hutchii,
only one word of advice needed regarding those KYB dampers; "avoid".
The damping efficiency of a new set, when tested in a country which uses a vibrating plate setup for testing a vehicle's dampers, is lower than that of worn out Lipmesa/Allinquants.
They may be the correct length and the fitting eyes are the correct diameter, but those are about the only positives...
