Fitting water drain in Lomax fuel tank

Post by Eddie c » Mon Jun 10, 2013 9:29 pm

I think I may have a small amount of water in my fuel tank, so I intend to fit a small sump complete with a drain plug to the fuel tank.
The tank has no drain plug fitted at present so my intention is to drill a small hole in the bottom of the tank then using sheet metal nibblers cut an oblong opening to allow me to install the sump arrangement that I have fabricated.
My problem is that I have no idea if the tank is fitted with a baffle and if it is where it is located.
If anyone can help with this information it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There's a much easier way;

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255221

It allows the petrol and water to mix and be burnt off.

Thanks Geoff

I bought some Wynns fuel dry and it has worked a treat.
I still intend to fit the sump arrangement that I've made but it can now wait till the winter.
