If all else fails disconnect the feed from the ignition switch and put a fresh wire in.

Its the ignition switch feed after the fuse which has gone to earth, so feeds flashers, wipers, oil and brake fluid lights plus fuel guage, ammeter, rev counter? etc. Have tried disconnecting them all but no luck. Will be trying again soon when not so busy! The coil/regulator feeds seem ok, they are before the fuse. I have part visa loom in for the 652 ignition module etc but that was running ok. No problem till I wired up the dash, it ran with all the wires dangling!

Yes actually voltmeter. AND YIPPEE, just found it! The only working rev counter I have out of 3 has a short in it, i.e. the +ve feed terminal is going to the case. I have now removed it, put a non working one in to fill the hole and will look into the offending item, time to lever the bezel off..........it is the early type and as I said was modified and working ok. Ho Hum, here we go again.....
