Hi there,
Hoping there is someone who can help me with this.
I am looking for a tyre shop which can balance my lomax tyres. All shops around where I leave have not the correct adapter.
I am based in kent . Datford/Tunbridge will be the best solution but I am happy to travel if needed.
Thanks in advance
Fabio

Re: wheel balance
Fabio,
Many people who run 2cvs claim that the wheels don't need balancing! The front wheels on my 223 had no balancing weights on when I bought the car, and I never experienced any problems before changing to wire wheels.
The only place I know that are reasonably close to your required area, that certainly used to have an adaptor are: Formula One Auto Centre, Maidstone Rd, Chatham. 01634 671100
Must be worth a call?

Re: wheel balance
Thanks hutchii
I will phone them up and see if they can help me.
My lomax start to vibrate when I am over 60mph. Just hope that balancing wheels will sort out the problem.
Keep u posted

Re: wheel balance
Hi
It could be king pins, I had this problem with kingpins but also when I changed a tyre and left the old weights on , once removed the problem disappeared.

Re: wheel balance
Hi,
To resolve the problem with an adaptor...I welded a flat bar across the square hole in the wheel centre, then found the centre, then used a hole saw 38mm dia to open out the wheel centre. Then cleaned of edge with a half round file. Paint to protect and match car. Watch when drilling that the saw does not snatch...slowly slowly catch a monkey.
Now all garages can balance the wheels after tyre fitting.
