Body Tub Removal

Post by Peter Brooks » Wed Aug 20, 2014 5:46 pm

I have to lift the body tub on my Lomax to do some work on the chassis.
So far I have:-
Removed the seats, carpets, sound proofing etc and the seat belts stalks.
The seat belts anchorage bolts and the bolts which hold the top anchorage post to the chassis at its rear most point.
The eight bolts which go through the floor and through the brackets on the chassis
The exhaust system
The petrol tank filler tube
I have probably overlooked the most obvious but I can see nothing else which would appear to be holding the tub to the chassis, yet it still wont move.
Please can someone put me out of my misery and tell me what I have missed and what more I have to do to free up the body tub

Thanks

Peter :oops:

There is often some sponge or rubber strip between the tub and the chassis and this can degrade and bond the two together. Some gentle work with a pry bar might be needed.

You might also check underneath to see if there are fasteners bonded into the floor.

Steve Lang at Langy's Rod Shop has the proper chassis webbing;
