Hi
Can anyone please tell me what size & thread are the nuts that hold on the rocker covers.
I have some alloy Rocker covers and I wish to put on and would like some stainless steel Dome nuts
Or failing that some self locking nuts.
Regards
Lester

Re: Information Request
12mm on the outside, but that's not really what you need to know, sorry!
They do up to 6 Nm.

Re: Information Request
They are M7 and have a rounded base so even when you find M7 dome nuts (try Mike at www.polished-stainless.com) they won't fit without oil leaks.
Steve Parrish of Parrish Engineering in Southampton makes them in stainless. He does them as set with exhaust manifold nuts. They come in as machined finish and I usually get them polished (you'll need to supply the polisher with a long M7 bolt to hold them). Don't forget to apply copperslip on the exhaust manifold nuts.
Mike at Polished Stainless understands what 2CV Specials people need so if you want to go through the engine bay replacing manky zinc plated bolts and nuts with stainless, he's your man. Just don't replace anything under high load with regular stainless. If you want to do that then you'll need to look for the M7 bolts used in BBS split rims. They come in 12.9 grade and can be had polished, dyed any colour you like, chromed or even gold plated.
Hope this helps.
