Chassis Number

Post by 2cvman » Sat Sep 29, 2012 5:12 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm building 2CV 4x4 and need advice on chassis numbers.
The donor vehicle had riveted on plates, one on the body, one on the chassis, have kept both plates.
The body plate will go back on the body, however, should I rivet the chassis plate on my modified chassis or stamp the numbers into the chassis, near the front off side drive shaft?

Cheers

If a chassis is unmodified you can use the 8 point rule to re register the vehicle. If the chassis is modified then the vehicle will require an IVA, you can then make up a new 17 digit VIN number. 2CV chassis numbers are on a plate in the middle of the chassis or as per mine, stamped on the offside leg by the drive shaft.
