Sealing spoked rims

When I was at caux retro there was a chap there I was chatting to with tubeless tyres on a spoked rim so I asked how the tubes coped with chaffing on the ribs on the inside of the tyre ,turns out he didn't have tubes in there but the garage had sealed the spoke holes with a sealing compound but he didn't know what it was but he had run like this for a year with no deflation ... Any one know what the product would be. ?

According to MWS applying sealant to the rim will not make a tubed wheel tubeless.
