Can't help, sorry, but that wing on my Lomax has got a gouge in it from where it has been hitting the exhaust down pipe.

I've had to reweld the lhs front wing support bracket as the original bracket's triangular gusset was a poor design and cracked. Seems better now...........but time will tell.

The snapped bolt. Not stainless steel was it? These are more prone to this I have found than std steel which has more vibration tolerance.
We are not alone is having cycle wing issues. The Caterham 7's also suffer with these wings but my old clamshell style ones were fine.

I had cracks in the mudguard edge and a broken edge so made up from an aluminium kettle or pudding mould a strengthening panel to take the bumps and bashes from the exhaust . This i rivetted in place and although odd , is also a practicle solution and remains unpainted as a feature . Strangely the previous late owner Alex Wilson seems to have had very sturdy guage steel mudguard supports made and the upper brackets are fitted on the outside/ topside of the mudguards , looping over and are easy to paint and spot any problems . I much prefer these to those flimsy versions i had on my rear engined special which one by one cracked through on the rough cobbled streets in the Town of Evora . The basic steel mudguards were obviously top heavy , so i removed two of them and stuck them on top of the rear mounted spare wheel to get me home .
