I have the Club Mehari Casis electronic ignition .Whats the simplest way to extend length of ignition leads to find a cool spot for the Boyer Bransden 00004 coil .? The supplied length is about 40 cm and well fitted into the unit and looking tamper proof . Has anyone added longer leads directly into the unit and what is the method to remove original leads turn/ pull or leave alone ? Do ignition lead extension pieces exist. ?
I have a collection of burnt out coils and looking forward to fitting the BB coil in the best possible place . Presently running with small computer fan ( Vertical )to cool my last remaining black coil and for the heat in Portugal when slow moving , i have the two Kawasaki fans at chassis level horizontal fixing ( plastic ties ) thanks to the Flat Out article, and twin mounted oil Coolers ,one up ,one down in a dexion frame with cycle inner tube cushioning with a nice gap between to adjust igniton timing .
Boyer Bransden short ignition leads.

Re: Boyer Bransden short ignition leads.
Hi Portuguy
We meet last year on the sea front at Armação de Pêra.
I fitted the Boyer Bransden coil with original leads. I bolted it with an aluminium heat sink (computer style from ebay) using a right angle bracket alongside the starter motor (using the starter mounting bolt). The heat sink is on top and the coil underneath it sits in free space and the original leads reach. I also used right angle NGK spark plug caps which also helped.
I think the instructions suggest a heat sink size? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150x60x25mm-A ... 1c5ef509a9

Re: Boyer Bransden short ignition leads.
Hi there and thanks for reply . I was coming back from Armacao meeting one Sunday and my new Coil packed in. Lucky i carried a spare abd just piggybacked it on with plastic ties .
Untill i get the copper leads , ive managed with second attempt and cutting back the carbon leads and gotva grip on the BB screw threads . Good idea with the right angle plug caps .ive ordered a computer heat sink also and have a good bracket down to gearbox where theres a heafty aluminium lug 3x2."bolted on .
A Piping hot Summer this year and great for open tops .
Next time you are over call me. . 919211557
