Fitting a new short version from ECAS , filler/. Breather

Post by Portuguy » Thu Aug 18, 2016 4:14 pm

Has anyone managed to fit the New ECAS Short English Made Breather valve onto crankcase alongside alternator casing on a Lomax without difficulty ?
When i look at my set up there is hardly any space and Alternator almost overlaps a fraction ,even with someones attempts to grind the casing back . The belt is fully tensioned already . The filler breather is at present on the bulkhead with copper pipe fittings brazed on the base and flange removed .it sits in a cradle bracket .Its time to change mine for one of the two alternatives .Are some alternators for a Lomax slightly smaller in circumferance ? Maybe i should just cut and braze standard breather for bulkhaed fitting ?

Hi,
It seems that kubota's alternator are smaller and fit but I have not tried yet even though mine is given me trouble since I have remove the third pulley it is now clashing with the bonnet. For info this alternator is used for some micro cars but also in marine engine like Yanmar

Thanks for that info . The Kubota alternator looks very neat . US postage gets held up at customs unfortunately in Portugal . I can check out suppliers here with your info and save on that postage charge ,almost the price of alternator .
Cheers Aidan
