When I bought pipes from Bonapart when it was still in the uk before being sold he told me for insurance purposes he had to make a jig to subject his rear pipes to movement and ran it for months to prove their ability to not fatigue
That is useful information and provides much comfort. Presumably the jig would simulate maximum movement and many more cycles than would be expected on the car.
Sorry if it appears picky but the test would show the design did not fail in fatigue for the duration of the test but I would expect it to fail if run long enough.

Steve
Your brake pipe failed where I puzzle over the best way of restraining my pipework.
Do you perhaps have a photo of the pipe layout before it failed ?
Thank you for alerting us !

David
Sorry no pics as its been replaced with flexibles now.
The pipe just had two coils about 50 mm dia in between the cylinder and caliper with no support or clip.
My mistake, just concerned others may have the same
Cheers
Steve
