Will 650 visa barrels fit 602 bottom end
Like most Forums(fora.?) these days there seems to be minimum traffic on it.So here’s hoping for some replies .
Anyway as a new owner of a 223 wanting to play with his toy I have acquired bits from an early 650 visa, that is the barrels .good pistons and not quite so good heads.
Having rebuilt a good few motorcycles over the years has anyone married parts like this to a stock 602 bottom end? Would the 602 heads fit and maybe increas compression rate
I really don’t want to pull the engine out of the car or disturb what is a good running, albeit a bit slow engine.
All comments or advice welcome.
Ps I do know that Burton offer a kit , but I’m trying to do this on the cheap.

Hi,
If you have a closer look you will find by yourself that it is not feasible. Actually not easily. Depending on what 602 you have it is probably best to fine tune your engine, check for the cylinder pressure, ensure that the breather "reniflard" works as required, adjust the valve and the ignition if needed be etc..
But a 602 will do the job no worries a Lomax is not a race car. If you think it is not sufficient you can swap the piston and cylinder for 9:1 to get higher compression ration, but again make sure you know what your are doing.
Cheers

If the 652's bore plating is in good nick and if you have a clapped out 602 with worn barrels it's definitely worth doing. My Visa conversion's been going for 9 years now and still going strong.

Howard did the machining for me, the engine is now assembled and looks good, not yet installed.
