21/24 or 18/26 Solex?

Hi all,

My Avion is fitted with a 21/24 Solex but I've come across an 18/26 Solex in a box of bits I got when I cleared my dad's garage. I'll need to evict some spiders, but is there a benefit to rebuilding this and using it in place of the 21/24?

Ian,
If your are happy with the 21/24 why would you change, the 18/26 was put on market to cope with new pollution rules. It is true that if you run cool on first venturi you will save money, but you might have to struggle to fine tune it

Hi, thanks for the reply. It's just that i have one and 8t has no wear on the butterfly spindles. Definitely food for thought. Cheers, Ian.
